A project of Chilean terroir guru Leo Erazo, a unique, old-vines white from the (as yet) little-known Valle de Itata in southern Chile, this blend of Moscatel (55%), Riesling (35%) and Chardonnay (10%) comes from a vineyard planted in 1922. Granite soil and maritime influence give it great freshness and acidity, balancing the exuberant richness of the three varieties. Showing a pungent nose of flowers, orange citrus, and vanilla, it is dry, complex, intense, and beautiful, with yellow roses, orange citrus, nectarine, sandstone minerality, and vanilla, with a touch of creaminess and a dry finish. Itata is not known now, but with wines of this quality bearing its name, it will be soon.
