In the last fifteen years or so, however, believers in Argentinian terroir have begun to make truly fine wine. Andrej Razumovsky, the first biodynamic winemaker in Argentina, chose the high-altitude vineyards of Lujan de Cuyo for their sunlight, low rainfall, hot days for ripeness, cool nights for acidity, and isolation from conventional growers. Alpamanta Natal Malbec is fermented with native yeasts and aged for 10 months in stainless steel tanks, making a fruit forward and fresh expression of Malbec. A natural for that pampas beef, es, it will also do well with roast pork shoulder or chorizo chili.
